Objection: Homosexuals are good

people

Response

Some facts: Many homosexuals can indeed be very loving, gracious, gentle, thoughtful people. Many too are particularly gifted in certain areas such as (but not limited to) the arts and creativity. Many have been hurt and are wounded and vulnerable. Some other facts: Homosexuals are not some new race of particularly godly people, somehow morally superior to the run- of-the-mill person. They are sinful like all people. They are defying God and choosing to engage in a sin that God calls particularly objectionable. Some are extraordinarily promiscuous and depraved (just as some heterosexuals are.) Even some who call themselves Christians are promiscuous and depraved in their homosexual practice. In recent years the media has been focused on showing what fine people they are. While that is true of some, it is only a part of the truth. The reality is not nearly as rosy as the portrayal – and even the portrayal still has them acting in ways that God has forbidden. Christians need to be careful of swallowing the lie that homosexuals are superior beings. They are no better than humanity at large and, in fact, are characterised by a behaviour that, until recent decades, society found repulsive, and God still does. We should view them like any other unrepentant sinner – with compassion but certainly not according them extra respect. Related pages Get to know a homosexual and you will change your mind
